What emission factors do you use?
Emissio uses the UK Government DEFRA conversion factors, updated annually. These are the same factors used by UK government, SECR reporting, and GHG Protocol aligned assessments. Every factor is versioned and logged against each calculation.
Will my report be accepted for tenders and compliance?
For most SME purposes — yes. Emissio reports follow the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and use DEFRA 2026 factors, making them credible and defensible for client requests, investor queries, and government tender Carbon Reduction Plans. They are self-reported and clearly stated as such.
Is this report third party verified?
No. Emissio reports are self-reported and not subject to third party verification. Every report includes a clear methodology statement confirming the standards and factors applied. If you need independent verification, our consultant directory connects you with accredited specialists.
Can I use this for a government tender?
Yes. Our Professional report produces a Carbon Reduction Plan in PPN 006 format — the UK government mandatory sustainability criteria for public sector contracts above £5m. The plan is self-reported and requires a Director signature before submission.

How accurate is a self serve report?
Your energy and vehicle figures are highly accurate when based on actual bills and fuel records. Supply chain estimates use DEFRA spend based emission factors — clearly labelled as estimates with a confidence rating. Accuracy improves the more detailed your input data.
How is Scope 3 calculated?
Scope 3 supply chain emissions are estimated using DEFRA spend based emission factors — a recognised method for SMEs without primary supplier data. Every Scope 3 figure is labelled as an estimate with a Low, Medium, or High confidence rating.
What if I need help with my data?
